Main Street Classic; Be There!

It’s that time of year again! It is the rivalry of the season, between the Pioneer Valley Panthers and the Santa Maria Saints! Ever since PV has been open, we have had an undefeated record against SMHS. However, our previous head coach of Varsity Football, Coach Ellington, is now the head Varsity coach at SMHS. This could change things quite a bit for the Saints.

This past Wednesday, 6 captains and the coaches came together at Cool Hand Luke’s for lunch. There, they discussed this upcoming game and wished each other luck. “This is a great way to build tradition and recognition for our student athletes while at the same time emphasizing good sportsmanship between the schools in the SMJUHSD,’’ said PVHS Athletic Director Greg Lanthier.

Coach Ruiz gave all varsity players a Main Street Classic shirt, illustrating the rivalry between the two schools. This is the game to be at! If you aren’t at this game, you have to be living under a rock! Come cheer on your JV and Varsity Panthers Tonight!

Who is Your Favorite Doctor?

"I expect a bunch of plot holes will be filled, because there are so much in the first episode that really need to be answered. I expect it to be serious unlike the 11th Doctor was considering he was pretty silly; I expect him to be serious like the 10th Doctor. Maybe even more serious than he was."  –Liliana Garcia (12)

Doctor Who is an epic story foretelling a time lord with various companions. A time lord is an alien that travels through time and space and comes from the planet Gallifrey. The Doctor is a 2000 year old time lord who protects planets from various villainous creatures. Such creatures include the notable Dalek, Weeping Angels, and Cybermen.

"Hopefully the Doctor turns into a girl and is a ginger because he always wanted to be a ginger. That is what I’m expecting."  –Charlotte Hight (11)

"What do I expect? I expect awesomeness and River Song. I really want more dinosaurs. I expect that the Daleks will come back and that the Doctor we be even more spectacular. It'll be amazing. It'll be Doctor Who and he will not forge time."  –Marco Beltran (11)

He also has fixed dimensional walls between universes and other time related incidents that could have devastated one or multiple universes. He is a great hero who has devoted his life to saving the multitude of species within the universe.
