Is it Time to See a Tutor?

“I’m your math daddy.” – Mr. Hansen

Have you ever had trouble in a class and needed extra help but don’t know where to go? Well you’re in luck! There is after school tutoring from Monday through Thursday 3:00pm – 4:30 pm in the PVHS Library. Inside, you can find Mr. Hansen who tutors Monday-Thursday, Ms. Garcia: Tuesday- Wednesday, and Mrs. Leornas: Mondays only. Mr. Hansen enjoys tutoring students. He explained, “I get to think about math, help students with math, tell high quality math jokes, and inspire students to be math teachers.” But don’t let Mr. Hansen’s math obsession deter you; tutoring welcomes absolutely all subjects. See you there!

Can You Relate?

Can you relate? We all get lazy sometimes and that’s alright, but how lazy are you? Here are a few lazy problems that some of us experience:

Mornings:

  • My morning routine includes 10 minutes of sitting in bed and thinking about how tired I am.

  • Sitting around in a towel after a shower because you don’t feel like getting dressed.

  • When you wear a dress because you’re too lazy to wear anything else.

  • Breakfast is SUPER IMPORTANT, but it’s hard when you’re too lazy to make food.

  • Makeup takes too long.

  • Bad hair days are when beanies, hats and hair ties are everyone’s best friend.

Bedroom:

  • When you have to fix your bed, but you leave it because it’s going to get messed up again anyway.

  • When your parent enters your room and leaves the door open a crack.

  • When your parent enters your room to talk to you in the middle of the night and leaves the light on.

  • Your friends tell you to come hang out, but you’re already comfortable in bed.

  • You drop your phone on your face because you’re too lazy to have a good grip.

  • When you are in bed and you realize you have to pee.

Near Death Experiences

When she was younger, Jocelyn Paz-Mendoza (12) was walking with her mother across some railroad tracks. All of a sudden, they heard a train's whistle. Jocelyn was terrified, not knowing what to do. She could feel her heart in her throat. Luckily, the train missed them just by an inch and left Jocelyn and her mother in shock. Jocelyn recalled, “It was like 'Wow.' The experience was an eye-opener and I couldn’t find any words at the time to describe how I felt.”

On one bright and shining day, baby Rosa Ramirez (12) was in her car seat while her mother was concentrated on the road. Young Rosa then randomly opened the car door and flew out of the car with her car seat. Her mother pulled over on the side of the road, walked over to Rosa, picked her up, and put her back into the car like nothing had happened. Rosa doesn’t remember how she felt, but her mother was deeply disturbed by the incident.
