"Oh No, I Dropped My Tablet!"

This Friday, September 4th, will be the last day for anyone to get their tablet insurance for the entire school year! This insurance will give you the protection you need if your tablet ever gets physically damaged or stolen. If there is a defect in the software itself, (program's not operating, tablet's not turning on, a blue screen), then you can fill out a service request and the district will either fix your tablet or replace it. For just $10, you can get your device replaced with a new one with up to 3 claims per school year.

First stop: Text Book Distribution for computer verification.

Second stop: Business office for $10 payment.

To purchase insurance, you must bring your tablet, keyboard, and power cord to the textbook distribution window in order to verify that your tablet is operable and in good shape. Then, you go to the business office window to pay $10 for the insurance itself. It's that cheap and simple!

If any tablet is reported as stolen, police will be notified and the person in possession of that tablet will be prosecuted. If you find an unattended tablet, please return it. Otherwise, the tablet will be tracked down. There is no way to hide yourself from the tracking device.

Having a tablet is extremely beneficial and a big privilege. Mr. Dickinson, Assistant Principal, believes, "It provides students with an improved learning environment. It gives students a wider range to research and learn from. The pros outweigh the cons."                           -Christina Bulosan

Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Karamitsos, the Artist!

Mr. Karamitsos is an art teacher at PV and a painter as well. When asked what his inspiration for both teaching and creating art was he replied, "Well, I was raised by an artist and was always looking at and making art.   It's something I use in my career as a teacher and I can also make a little bit of money (as a painter)." Mr. Karamitsos often presents his paintings at art shows where people are able to buy them. His preferred subjects are California landscapes, especially the local oak -studded golden hills. “I don’t have a signature piece but I think I do have a style I like to paint."          -Destiny Chavez

What did you do this summer?

Guiselle Aguilar spent a full week in Vancouver, Canada with her sister, Mariela Aguilar. They went on this exciting adventure to witness the Women’s World Cup Soccer Final which was held at the BC Place Stadium.  In addition to watching the game, they toured the city of Vancouver where they got in a lot of shopping and ate at many nice restaurants. They even visited the beautiful Chinese Garden. Guiselle noted, “My trip to Canada was an incredible experience. It made me realize how different the country really is when compared to the United States.”
