Spooky Movie Night a Real Treat

Last night, Center Stage hosted their annual Spooky Movie Night where people come together to watch a scary, suspenseful movie. Free hot chocolate and popcorn came with the admission and sweets such as brownies, cupcakes, and cookies for $1.

This year, they had games set up before the movie. People were welcomed to participate in a Cake Walk, Mummy Wrapping, and a dance party to win cakes and Starbucks gift cards.

3 lucky winners were randomly selected to win a mini-cake in the Cake Walk. Breanna Leos and her neighbor won a Starbucks gift card for the best mummy wrapped, and Jalen Cano won the last Starbucks gift card in the dance party.

After the games, the Mystery Movie was finally revealed. Everyone watched The Sixth Sense. This PG-13 movie caused multiple screams in the audience as well as tears at the end. Everyone was captured by the movie and the phenomenal job done by Center Stage. It gets better and better each year.

Panthers Host Braves; League Title at Stake

Tonight the Panthers will host the Lompoc Braves and battle for League Title. According to Coach Ruiz, “This is a really big game for us. If we win we will be tied for first place in the League and guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.”

Players to watch: on the Lompoc team, watch Toa Taua #35. He is a sophomore on Varsity. He is ranked 6th best player in the state. His older brother plays for UCLA and his other brother was in the NFL for a short amount of time. On the PV team, keep your eye on the workhorse Joseph "Speedy" Gonzales. He will be out there running the ball with a head of steam.

It will also be Senior Night and possibly our last home game of the season, and the last home game for all of the senior football players. Let's all go out and support our fellow Panthers!

“ I feel like we are prepared for this game. All we have to do is put in everything that we've learned," says Andrew Liendo #31

“We have worked really hard this week, and I think we can get this win. I will put everything out there for my team, and I hope they do the same," says Joseph Gonzales #5

“I have trained the linemen to the best of my ability, and they are disciplined enough to get the job done," says Coach Aaron (middle), posing with linemen Big B  #67 (left) and Peter Ybarra #55 (right).

“This is the seniors' last home game we are gonna get, if we don't beat Lompoc! We need to win this week. I believe in us," says Manuel Rolon #52 posing with teammates Osvaldo "Chuy" Morales #8 (right) and Brandon "Big B" Gallomay #67 (left).

Halloween Pets

Every year, Halloween is enjoyed by many. We spend it with our families, friends, and, last but not least, our pets. Pets are like family to most of us. They enjoy our Halloween costumes by wearing their own and tagging along with you to get candy. Even though they can’t have any, they just go to be with you and enjoy the walk.

This is Muneca. She is a sweet dog who loves to go out for Halloween. She is an an  angel.

PV Competes in SB County X-Country Championships

-Emilia Martinez and Mireya Montiel

The PVHS cross country team traveled to Lompoc yesterday to compete in the Santa Barbara cross country championships. They loaded up on the bus and drove to a park where they would run three miles. The race was starting soon, so the frosh and soph boys had to do their usual warm ups because they were the first to run.

Our team was competing with other schools from far away like San Marcos and Santa Barbara. As soon as the starting gun was fired our runners sprinted to gain a good position.

“I endured most of the race but the course as a whole was difficult to run on,” Alina Delabra admits after being one of the first ones from our school to finish. The competition was tough but their fellow teammates who weren’t running were on every corner of the track to cheer each other on. Our cross country team did their best and kept a steady pace while running.

“While I’m running I try to block everything out and focus on running. I just want to get off the track as soon as possible,” Michelle Rincon said. Everyone gave it their all and made it strongly across the finish line.

After the race teams run just to cool off. “After running I keep moving and drink lots of water,” explained Griselda Bautista. After all their running all the schools got into a group to give out medals. These medals were given out to the runners for their various accomplishments while competing there. Everyone on the team did the best they could and in the end came home with medals of their own.

PT’s Staff Models Last Minute Costumes

One idea would be painting or drawing on your face in any way! The half-skin half-skeleton is popular. Just go to the store and buy makeup to make cool and scary drawings on your own face.

Want to be a pirate? It would be a good idea all that is needed in this costume is simple clothes; a bandana, a black eye patch, and a black marker. Fold the bandana to wrap it around your head, cut up any black piece of paper into a circle to cover only one eye, and draw yourself a mustache.

Become a ninja, one of the simplest costumes. Wear all black and wrap a black shirt or sweater around your head. Use the head hole from the t-shirt for your eyes and tie the sleeves in the back.

A bag of Eminems: Get a trash bag, a big one will fit better. Then, print pictures of the rapper Eminem and place them all over the bag. Now you have a bag of "Eminem's"
