Panther Pride Shines Over Amazing Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming Queen and her Court: Ashley Camarena-Morales, Hannah Diaz, Skyler Killian, Andrea Ortega (Queen), April Chavez, and Alana Gorsi.

Record setting dance attendance and the crowning of Joseph Codamos as Homecoming King made for a very memorable evening.

Pioneer Valley’s upset victory over the 7-1 Santa Ynez Pirates was a great way to carry through the sprit kicked off by the Class Skits earlier that day.

Panthers Plunder the Pirates; 25-14

This past Friday night, the Varsity Panthers put in a lot of work during our Homecoming game against Santa Ynez. They managed to beat the favored 7-1 Pirates 25-14! During the first half of the game, PV dominated the Pirates with 2 touchdowns and none for them. They caught up a bit in the 3rd quarter with 7 points and 4th quarter with 14 points, but that was as close as they could get. In the last quarter, PV made another touchdown making the final score 25-14! The crowd cheered on throughout the entire game. Even alumni attended to support our Varsity team. Good work Panthers!

And the Queen is Andrea Ortega!

After a week of heavy campaigning, during halftime at Friday’s game, the Homecoming Queen candidates were walked down the center of the football field by a special relative of their choosing. After each lady was introduced to the crowd, the Homecoming Queen was announced. The 2015 Homecoming Queen is Andrea Ortega! Congratulations to the Homecoming Queen and her Court; Ashley Camarena-Morales, Hannah Diaz, Skyler Killian, April Chavez, and Alana Gorsi.

Codamos Announced King at Huge Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming dance turned out to be a phenomenal night! This year's dance broke the record and had the biggest attendance, by far, consisting of 576 people. "It was lots of fun actually. My group and I were usually towards the places where there were less people, so it gave us more room to dance," says Judith Zavala (11).

Midway through the dance, around 9pm, the Homecoming King was announced by Ms. Walters, Activities Director. The 2015 Homecoming King is Joseph Codamos! Congratulations and nice work to both King candidates! After the King was announced, he and our Homecoming Queen, Andrea Ortega, shared a royal dance with each other. Everyone else started to feel the beat along with them, and ended up joining in the celebration. The night was filled with music, laughter, and sweat. It certainly was a memorable night.
