Who’s Your Boogeyman?

Klever Paxtor (9) "My cousins would tell me scary stories about Chuckie at night and I would be too scared to sleep!" Chuckie is a psychotic doll possessed by a murderer who cast a spell on himself that transferred his mind into the doll's body. He's known for going around and killing anyone who gets in his way.

Dylan Sandoval (11) "I would play around with my friends in the bathroom repeating 'Bloody Mary' to see if it was true, that she would appear in the mirror with blood all over her."

Selena Chavez (12) "If I was being bad as a child, my mom would tell me that she would let La Llorona get me if I didn’t listen." This woman named La Llorona drowned her kids in the river after her husband had left her for another woman. She walked up and down the river weeping for her children and it is said that if anyone goes near the river, she will kill them. Many parents made up this story so that their kids wouldn’t go into the rivers and possibly drown.

Cassandra Victor (10) "I was scared of Bloody Mary as a kid because my friend would always talk about her just to scare me." Bloody Mary died as a young teen. It is said that if you go into a dark room, light a candle, and say her name ‘Bloody Mary’ repeatedly, she will appear in the mirror covered in blood behind you.

Homecoming Skit Practice Begins

It's homecoming season! That means that homecoming skits are now getting put together. The theme this year is Award Ceremonies: Seniors have the VMAs, Juniors have the Grammys, Sophomores have Teen Choice Awards, and Freshmen have the Kids' Choice Awards. Everyone is welcome to try out for a part in their class's homecoming skit. Don't delay, this Wednesday there will be cuts due to the limit of 40 students participating for each class. The practices are from 6pm - 8pm Monday through Friday, so go out, dance a little, act a little, and show your class spirit!

Yesterday was the c/o 2016 and c/o 2017's first homecoming skit practice! Both classes were planning on what celebrities to include in their skit and what they should do. The practice overall seemed like a great time for them. Candice Corpuz, ASB President c/o 2017, claimed, "We had a big turn out for our first homecoming skit practice and it's coming along great. I can't wait to see the finished product and how we are able to execute this when the time comes." The homecoming skits always turn out to be great performances and really put a smile on peoples' faces as well as laughter all around.

The doubles teams ended up with an overall score of 8-1 in the Panther's favor, while we lost in the singles 1-3. After total scores were tallied up, Panthers ended with a victory of 9-4 for final overall scores.

Kathy Manzano (10) - "I did a good job today, but I could've put my head more in the game. Even though I lost one match, I know there's still more to come in the future."

Coach Martin - "Both teams fought very hard throughout every game. I feel that both the Panthers and the Saints have improved from the start of the season.
