Dinner Theatre Performance, Stellar

The ups and downs of life itself can be reciprocated, in the silly and serious ways; drama has proven to do so. Last night Pioneer Valley High School presented several skits and bits of upcoming plays. In spectacular form, these panthers proved a streak of excellence as they took the stage. For the Drama King and Drama Queen, the awards justified their amazing performances throughout the years. Topping it all off was an amazing dinner provided by our very own culinary class.

Drama King:

"When I was performing, I was trying to remember the lyrics and the dancing that I kept forgetting. I joined drama this year, because I always liked to act and to make people smile. Mostly, I like to act and perform musically. The whole performance was amazing. I like the dentist and the puppet performance. When I won Drama King, I was shocked because this is my first year in drama." Anthony Ilaban (12)

Culinary staff:

"The performance was all out, super funny and entertaining. Even if I did get tired, it was worth passing around food and running all over the place." Manuel Lopez Bravo (11)

"The performance was also really funny and great, I enjoyed it very much. The moving around was hard and tiring but honestly, it was very worth it." Karissa Arechiga (11)

"The performance was so good! It was fun and maybe tiring to pass around food, but I especially loved the smiles on people's faces." Tyler Thacker (12)

Drama Queen:

"I feel super excited! Ever since I joined drama, I wanted to be crowned queen. I feel so special. I never knew I was going to be chosen for this award. IT was amazing, the performances were great with an 8!"

Staff Soccer Match vs. Saints Tonight

Today at 4:30 PM, the PV staff soccer team will take on the SM staff at SMHS. This amazing spectacle only happens once a year. This is its third year running. Previously, the Saints took the first win, and last year the Panthers took the win. This year, it will be very exciting to see if our staff can pull it off again. Here is what a few of the team members have to say:

-Joana Yanez Viveros

"This is my second year playing; last year we had a glorious victory over the saints. I wanted to be part of it, because soccer is life and it’s fun. It’s also great to be part of a team. At PV, we have a good staff team, because our teachers are good at working together. Sports are really fun and good for working out. Go watch if you want to see some of the PV staff take down SM staff for the second time. You probably haven't seen teachers play like this." - Mr.Depaulo

"The staff soccer game started when Mrs. Brafman and Mr.Diaz (SMHS teacher) came up with the idea for the match three years ago. I didn't play the first match, but I did play last year and we won. I chose to participate because it’s pretty cool to have fun with other teachers and get to know them in another way. It’s also cool because we get together with SM teachers and I actually have a lot of friends from SM. I thought last year was hilarious; the teachers were so funny. I thought it was a great event and the stadium was packed. I encourage the students to go and see that the teachers are not all about teaching; they can also have fun.“ – Mr.Brafman

"This will be my first year playing. I thought it would be fun to do something like this with the staff members. I like playing sports when I get the chance, so I am excited to see if we can beat the Saints on their turf. I know of some teachers who are bribing their students with extra credit to attend; we want support as much as we want to support you." –Ms.Sewell

Music Survey Results

Music is an art form which has been around thousands of years ago and anybody can enjoy the melodic tunes of yesterday and today. When the priceless songs reach our ears, we can't help but feel emotions whether that being joy or sorrow.

This week our music survey was set out to see what our panthers had to say about their taste in music and the results are in. The winning genres are... *drum roll*... pop, hip hop and rap at about 45% of the votings! Alternative/indie comes at about 28%. This school seems quite fond of the pop/hip hop/rap genres. However, no matter what your music preferences we can all enjoy music in every shape or form!
