Prom Stress

Prom comes with more details than just finding a dress or a date. A lot goes with making Prom night a special one. As for the girls, stressful prom activities include hair and makeup appointments, as well as getting the perfect dress. For the guys, it may be renting or buying a tux, getting their hair done, finding dinner reservations, and finding out if your date is actually okay with your dinner plans.

Another really annoying factor that can cause hair tearing out is being in a group that can't agree on where to eat or what to do. A best bet with this problem may be to just go off with your date and a few other couples and do your own thing! If everyone can agree, make sure you make your appoints and reservations early! Stress can be reduced by taking care of stressful issues early on.

The fun does not stop there when it comes to prom! I have calculated all the expenses that prom can add up to. This is based off of experiences from girls I know that have made appointments and bought what they need for prom. The prices will go from highest to lowest.

Hair: $150 - $40

Dinner for two: $75 - $15

Dress: $500 - $100 or under

Tickets: $45

Make- Up: $140 - $0

Corsage: $65

Accessories (shoes, jewelry, etc.) : $100 - $0

Tux Rental: $180 - $100 - $0

Limo/ Party Bus: $720

Nails: $75 - $20

"The most stressful thing about prom is finding a place to eat because it is hard finding a restaurant that everyone in the group can agree on. The most expensive thing about prom so far is renting a tux because it's a lot of money."

Michael Gauna (12)

If going the highest price route you will be spending an estimate of about $2,050 on prom. However, if you go the cheapest route it can cost you about $385 on prom. But if having a smaller budget is in mind, spending little to no money is not impossible. You can borrow a dress, do your own make up and hair, drive yourself and even go get fast food for dinner! Prom is your night to be fabulous, so do what you want to do!

"The most stressful thing about prom would be figuring out where we're going to eat at and the most expensive thing about prom is finding the right tux." Miguel Guardado (11)

"The most stressful thing about prom is looking for a dress! As well as the most expensive thing to look out for." Monique Vargas (12)

Catching Up with Boys’ Varsity Baseball

Our Boys' Varsity Baseball team is having a great season! Although a big part of sports is the scores, we wouldn't be able to have them without the amazing players. Here are some of your varsity baseball players and their highlights from this season:

"I've been playing baseball since I was 6. As a team we did great this season! We've been improving more every time. My favorite memory of the season would have to be the team bondings."- Devin Veglia (12)

"I've been playing baseball for 15 years. We did way better this season than last year. My favorite memory is when we lost the tie game to SLO in the extra innings."-Nate Alcantar (12)

-Deja Stewart

"Been playing for about 10 years now. The team did really good considering we didn’t have a lot of off season work as a team. My favorite memory is spending late nights at team bonding."

-Marcos Gonzalez (12)

"I played baseball for 15 years. The team this year has exceeded my expectations. My favorite memory has to be the two kills the team has so far."-Jacob Limon (12)

Anyone Can be a Photographer (we need you)

Some may say that photography is simply pointing a camera at something and taking a picture. However, photography is an art form much like that of drawing, writing, or music. It is a way for people to express their creativity and individuality through what they see in a camera lens. Through the eyes of a camera, anything can be beautiful if you look close enough. You don't have to have the most professional camera to take pictures of what you see around you. So grab you phone, get out there, and take some pictures. Let the world see what you see. Then submit your pics to the Panther Tales!
