Have You Bought Your Dress Yet?

-Jasmin Ramos

Prom is one of the many important memories in our high school lives that we will always cherish and look back on. Although prom dresses may be expensive, many girls feel that the price is well worth it. Prom is a very important day for many girls because it's the one night that they can get all glammed up and feel like a princess. Dresses play an important role for prom because every girl wants to look amazing and take lots of pictures in their expensive and beautiful prom dresses.

Monze Fuentes-Estrada (12),

"My spending limit for my prom dress was $280 but only ended up spending $120. I got it at David's Bridal. I tried on a couple of dresses until I finally found the perfect one."

Tiana Rincon (12), "My spending limit was $280. I got my prom dress at The Glam Room. My dress cost about $80. It was literally the first dress I tried on and I loved it!"

Isis Dominguez (12), "I'm going to

order my dress online. My

spending limit

for my prom

dress is around $300."

Jenny Paniagua (12), "My prom dress budget is $300 because prom is an important day for me and I want to remember it for a long time. I'm going to buy my prom dress somewhere out of town."

Love Awkwardly

Center Stage recently performed the play “Love Awkwardly,” which follows eight high schoolers and their experiences with relationships. This one act show took place last Tuesday and Thursday in the drama room during seventh period. The cast rehearsed for weeks, along with the help of their student director, who also happened to have a part in this show. The hard work paid off and was rewarded with lots of laughs from the audience and plenty of compliments. Overall, they had a wonderful performance and had lots of fun doing it.

-Mireya Montiel

“I was the student director, so that was a fun new experience. The character I portrayed was a bit shy and was pretty much head over heels in love with another character. My character did things that were out of my comfort zone, like the rapping scene, but after some practice and performing it front of people, it was actually really fun. The cast was amazing to work with, and they did such an outstanding job. It was one of the best plays that I’ve been in, not only because of getting sort of a big role, but because I got to do it with friends and how we all contributed to the entire production.” Gilberto Hernandez (11)

“I was a bit nervous when I read the script. I had to kiss someone as part of the play, and I had never done that on stage before. Though after getting more comfortable after rehearsing, I was okay with doing it in front of so many people. Overall, I had fun performing and doing something I didn’t think I was comfortable doing.” Jana Villena (11)

“This performance was amazing and lots of fun. It wasn’t like any other play I’ve done because of the stage kiss I had to do. Working with the rest of the cast was just great. I don’t really have any other words besides that I love performing and seeing people laugh and enjoying the play. I’ve been doing drama for nearly three years now, and I still love doing what I do. I’m looking forward to senior year and doing a lot more shows.” Devon Fuller (11)
