"Homefront: The Revolution" Reviewed
Jhoan Jaramilo- "I love this game! BUY THIS GAME!! It has everything I predicted would happen to the U.S. soon but games make this reality. Have you watched the movie Red Dawn? It's the same scenario you fight to free your home and recruit people on the way to join the rebellion against the Koreans. I mean this game takes place in 2029 so your guns are way cooler and probably better then the ones we have today. I mean who doesn’t want to fight the bad guys off in the greatest country in the world? MURICA!!"
Homefront: The Revolution; this game hasn't been released but still surprises people on how great the graphics are. It takes place in the near future, 2029, where you begin as a hostage of the Koreans who have attacked on our east coast. They think you can threaten them or ruin there operation what ever it might be, all you know is that Korea has taken over your hometown in Philadelphia; you don’t know the reason why. Soon this revolution builds up and strikes the PD building where you and the Koreans were. The revolutionaries realize you’re there and break you free. Since you were around the Koreans so much you know the location of the PD, they think you can help. You start your adventure then.

2016-2017 Cheerleaders Selected
-Madison Skaufel
Recently cheer tryouts were held for incoming Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleaders. About 40 students tried out; each boy and girl had to go through a weeklong try-out workshop where they learned the material needed for try-outs. The senior cheerleaders led the workshop and judged the hopefuls, they were also the ones who made up all the try-out material. As Saturday rolled along, everyone was nervous and anxious to see if they could be put up to the test of performing in front of 5 judges. At the end of the day, 21 students had made the brand new Varsity team compiled of Juniors and Seniors and 16 students had made the Junior Varsity team which is made up of incoming Freshman and Sophomores.
"I feel proud to finally be on Varsity. My goal for 2016-17 is to bond with my team and make sure us spirit leaders are providing the spirit that is needed for PV." Cidnee Cabriales (10)
"I feel very excited that I made the team in my last year of high school, it's been a dream of mine. My goals for the coming year are to make the team look good as previous cheer teams at PV or even better. And, to just have fun and enjoy my last year of high school with my friends and family." Maria Vazquez (11)
"I'm excited for this upcoming year because at try-outs I noticed a lot of talented girls. I hope to get close with this team and get along, as we have in past years. I want to continue to make good performances and memories with the girls." Karen Lopez (11)
Earth Day is this Friday
We have celebrations and holidays for everything whether it being labor day or even St Patrick's day. But even though it might be obvious that we should celebrate the very planet we live on, we usually take it for granted. Which is why on April 22nd, 1970, United States senator Gaylord Nelson, founded Earth Day. Earth day is a celebration in which we give awareness as to how important it is to keep our planet beautiful. It is, in fact the only planet we humans live on so we should all contribute to help maintain this lovely place we call home. This April 22nd, it is scheduled for the Paris Agreement to be signed by 120 countries including that of the United States as well as China. This Paris Agreement is an agreement pertaining to greenhouse gas emissions.
Some ways to help the planet include simple tasks like taking shorter showers and recycling, or even planting a tree! The possibilities are endless when it comes to giving a helping hand to mother nature. So take you part in helping the environment today! Remember: reduce, reuse, and recycle!
The Panther Tales would like to find out how far you Panthers are willing to go to help your planet. Please take this survey and we will post the results Friday.
