This past Saturday, Band-a-Rama took place in the Santa Maria High School gym. Band-a-Rama has been happening for 40 years. About 100 people showed up to hear and support the band athletes. 11 schools ranging from junior high, high school, and Allen Hancock college were there performing. Each band performed a different song. Some schools have been going to this event for years and one school had their first time there. The youngest performer was 11 years old and the oldest performer was 94 years old, he's been practicing music every single day. At the end of the individual performances, they form a mass band. All together, they performed 4 different songs, conducted by 4 different music directors.

Far Cry Primal Reviewed

Far Cry Primal is a game based on the Stone Age: no maps, no houses, no electronics. This game, like Far Cry 4, is a hunting/survival game. This is a free roam game and you will need to find supplies and hunt animals to get food and shelter. You are the last man of your tribe to survive. You and a group of men are hunting mammoths; you lead one of them to a corner to kill it. When you succeed in this objective, a saber tooth comes to get the prize, injures all your men and you along with a friend get pushed off a cliff. You are the only one to make it and you need to find shelter quick before the sun goes down and you freeze. It's a very interesting survival game.

"I love this game because my favorite YouTuber, Vanossgaming, plays this game, and he's so funny. I like how this game has a Minecrafty feel to it. I've never played or wished to play a game like this one. You’re the last man in your tribe. Everyone else has that caveman look, but you’re the best looking one out of all of them." -Angelina Salas (9)

What Are You Doing for Spring Break?

Spring break is around the corner and it's time to celebrate! With 11 days off, there is so much room for activities! Whether it being paddle boarding with some friends, or just sitting in and watching Netflix. Whatever it is you're doing, it's the memories you make with your friends, family, or even yourself that make spring break all the more special! Here are a few Panthers’ plans for spring vacation.

Andrea Domingues (9) "This spring break I will be celebrating my birthday a bit early, since it's the day we come back to school. I will also be hanging out with friends, doing fun things. If you're having trouble not knowing what to do for break, call over your friends."

Noah Segura (10) "I will be in my room playing some video games this spring break."

Karena Basulto (12) "During spring break, I am planning on going to LA, and hang out with my friends there maybe. When you're with your family and friends this break, just have the time of your life and have fun."

Christian Gonzalez (11) "I'm planning on hanging with friends at mine or their houses and maybe go to the beach. If you have no plans, you should go out of town with friends and explore."
