Need a Better Way to Start Your Day?

Everyone has their ups and downs when it comes to getting up in the morning. However some people have their tips and tricks to stay positive throughout the day. Some include drinking a cold glass of water right when you wake up, or even listening to music in the shower. Whatever you do to start your day off the right way, just know that it's always better to stay happy; everything's going to be alright! Here are several Panthers that have some advice about having a good day.

-Alexis Dagar & Melanie Naraval

Pump Up the Jam

-Madison Skaufel

Every person in this world has a song that just pumps up their sad soul and lifts it to great clouds of happiness. Whether the song is loud, somber, peaceful or stupidly catchy, there is just always that song that can cheer you up.  Some PV students have shared those very songs that make them want to dance.

"Work by Rihanna because it makes me work and feel poppin!" Selena Salinas (12)

"Weekend by Miguel because it gets me ready for the weekend and the way the beat is pumps me up and gets me in a happy feeling." Anthony Rivera (10)

"No Other by Phora. Just the way he delivers his lyrics and the beat, it's just a good song." Uriel Trujillo (11)

"Anyways by Chris Brown because it's Chris Brown and the beat gets me going." Sarah Garcia (12)

 Hybrid Animals!

-Alan VanNostrand

PV Graphic Arts students recently created some unique animal hybrids.

Azalea Dwyer (12), creator of the "Snark" explained, "I started off with an innocent snail and aimed to make it as creepy as possible."

Speaking of FFA...

-Yadira Barrera

Last night, our Panthers competed at the Santa Barbara Sectional FFA Speaking Competition. The speaking skills gained through this event help students excel in school, community and career. This Competition includes Creed Speaking, where members must present the FFA Creed from memory and answer questions about its meaning and purpose; Impromptu, where students are given a topic and they have one minute to think of a 1-2 minute response; Job Interview, in which members submit a resume, complete job applications and participate in mock job interviews with a panel of possible employer; Extemporaneous Public Speaking, where participants are given 30 minutes to deliver a speech on one of three assigned agricultural topics; and Prepared Public Speaking, where students write and deliver a six- to eight-minute speech about a current agriculture-related topic.

Four of PV's Creed Speakers and one Job Interview placed and made the cut to move onto the second round of the competition which will be at the Regional Level.
