If you are on this "No Go List", you are on the road to possibly not being able to go to PROM or GRADNIGHT!! So, to make sure you can go to these very amazing events, go to the front office and see what you can do!!

Register to Vote On Line; It's Easy

-Vanessa Nunez

The 2016 election is this November and it will be here sooner than you think. You might be wondering why you should care, but I encourage all of you to take a look at the candidates because one will be running the country in January of 2017. If you’ll be 18 before June, register to vote! It’s very easy because now you can do it online at https://vote.usa.gov/ or click the button!

Select the California State and language preference and just follow the easy steps on the webpage to fill out the form.

Make sure to fill it out on a computer you trust, because you’ll have to use your social security number. The website will need your signature to finalize your form and they’ll get it from the DMV. So make sure the DMV has your signature in their system. They’ll have your signature if you have a California ID or Driver’s License. But if don’t have either, be sure to get one of them before you register. It’s very important to register to vote before June, so if you’ll be 18 before then make sure to do it! It’s the most effective thing you can do to make a difference in your country.

“Young people can’t complain about change or do anything about changing the government unless they express their voice and the only way to express their voice is voting. Because young people don’t have money or any other types of influence, the only way a politician will listen to them is having hundreds and thousands of people voting. You have got to vote to make change happen.”  - Mr. Ilac

It's the start of February which means it is also black history month! Black history month or African-American Month, gives commemoration towards the important figures during the African Diaspora and is celebrated in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. Woodson along with the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History announced the second week of February to be "Negro History Week" for it fell on the birthday of Abraham Lincoln as well as Fredrick Douglass (February 12th and 14th). All in all, this month is to remember all the sacrifices people made for equality we have today. A Black History Month rally will be held tomorrow during lunch! See ya there!

Boys’ Wrestling Senior Night

-Photography by Guiselle Aguilar Interviews by Deja Stewart

Tuesday night your Senior Boys’ Varsity wrestling team won their last home match of the season against Arroyo Grande. Not only was it the last home match of the season but it was also 15 of the team members' last home match in high school. Is was a bittersweet night for most of the team as they were able to beat the Tigers soundly.

“I feel that I improved from last year by a lot and my senior night was a great night honoring my senior brothers.”- Manny Rolon (12)

“It didn’t go as expected but it was still a great learning tool and senior night gave the seniors an emotional drive to wrestle better.” Edson Sierra (12)

“It was lit! I think we had a good season overall. It made us become closer as teammates. I’m really going to miss these moments but it will be something that I will cherish throughout the years.” Ezequiel Pena (12)
